Today was a rainy day so my day was calm. So I decided to share how I manage my finances. Everyone needs money without money we can't buy food, clothes and other needs. Everyone wants to save some ,it doesn't matter we make more or less. The best way is we should have a saving account in bank ,but it is not possible for everybody ,especially those who have children and just one person work like my situation. When our children were young all the time we needed something , so I did as a house wife. When you need to shop, you should check your local sale papers, which we get by mail each week. If sale papers are not available then we can check online . Usually it will display which items are on sale ,also we can find some coupons in every category, like handbags ,clothes, books etc.I do this all the time even for grocery I use them.We can do our part to save some money like this and this money we can use for children clothes, books and other use.
Today I will talk about carrots, it's a very good, healthy vegetable. It is available all over the world. Carrot has many colours but, typically orange, other yellow, red White and purple. Today I will share a very easy and simple recipe in Urdu /Hindi we call “ Gajar Ka Halwa” it is a very famous Pakistani / Indian dessert. There are many ways to make it. some people make it with milk and cream, but I make it with butter and oil. This is my husband‘s favourite. I make it very simple and easy. You can use nuts pistachios and Almonds but, I don't use them because my children don't like nuts in halwa. Let's start to make!
“ Gajar Ka Halwa” or carrot’s Halwa:
Ingredients:
Half Kg- carrots
One cup - sugar
Half tsp- green cardamom powder or ( 5 cardamoms)
One teaspoon- fennel seeds or powder
One cup butter
Two tablespoons - of oil
Method:
Peel and grate the carrots with a regular grater or a food processor. In a saucepan cook the carrots with cardamom and fennel, until the liquid is dry from the carrots and gets softened. Then add sugar and salt, and cook it until all the water which sugar released is dry. Then add butter and oil, fry it until the oil starts to separate from carrots halwa. At this stage, if you like you can add nuts and serve hot!
