Baked Broccoli with Cheese
There are many broccoli recipes—boiled, puréed, soups, and sauces—but this version is especially flavourful and has a delicious crunch from the shredded cheese.
It’s very easy to make and takes only 14–15 minutes to bake.
Since I started baking it, it has become my family’s favourite!
This baked broccoli is prepared by blanching it in salted boiling water and then tossing it with spices.
This side dish can be served with baked chicken and boiled rice.
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add ¼ tsp salt. Add the broccoli stems and florets and cook for one minute. Drain and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a large bowl, add the blanched broccoli and toss it with a pinch of salt, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, and ½ tsp paprika powder. Mix gently.
Sprinkle some crushed pepper and shredded cheese on a baking tray, then place the broccoli on it one by one.
Press the broccoli gently with a glass. This helps it become super crispy.
Sprinkle more cheese on top and bake for 14–15 minutes, keeping an eye on it.
When the cheese turns light brown, remove the broccoli from the oven.
Super crispy and tasty broccoli is ready!
